This Kenyan Entrepreneur Makes Natural Blended Spices for the Local Market

Meet a self made entrepreneur who started with just 48 YouTube

Chibundiro is a brand of natural blended spices in Kenya. This range of natural spices is an interesting alternative to the large volumes of artificial seasoning that has flooded the African market.

The brain behind this business is Anzazi Kiti, a professional accountant who still works a day job and runs her business, Taste Afrique Kenya.

This business which is run out of a small makeshift “factory”, produces up to 40 packs of its nautral spices which retails at $2 in local retail chains.

During a recent East Africa regional business competition dubbed “Youths for Agribusiness”, Anzazi emerged as one of the six finalists, which earned her a $2,000 prize award. She plans to use the prize money to increase marketing penetration for her products.

Currently, her products have sold in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and a few orders from European and North American markets.

Anzazi is optimistic about growth, and expects her business will grow at a rate of 2.5% per year.

Her journey truly exemplifies the spirit of a Smallstarter. By taking small steps, Anzazi could eventually build a very successful brand of organic and natural spices that could become a continental sensation.

Building a business is not easy. It takes courage, determination, hardwork and grit.

Keep going, Anzazi!
